Mariah Carey's "Kidnap" Wish
Mariah Carey revealed she has "always wanted to be kidnapped".
The pop star, who divorced her first husband record executive Tommy Mottola back in 1998 after five years of marriage, admits she harboured fantasies about someone coming to abduct her during the darkest times in her life.
She said; "When I was in an unhappy place in my life, I always wanted to be kidnapped. I just wanted a way out, but I didn't have one."
Mariah also revealed she couldn't believe her luck when her new husband Nick Cannon "kidnapped" her and proposed.
She said; "He sort of kidnapped me and took me on a helicopter ride. Then he proposed."
Mariah has insisted she has never been happier in her life than she is now telling Elle magazine; "It's definitely the best place I've ever been in my life. If you really look at my life, I've never had a personal life, or if I did, it was just wearing a mask and it was not existing, you know?
I put my career ahead of my personal life because I think I didn't know that I was deserving of both, because that was just how I always felt about myself. That was just my own insecurity and land in which I live."
Meanwhile, Mariah and her new husband will celebrate their first wedding anniversary by having a more public ceremony in America.
The couple, who wed in secret at Mariah's Bahamas retreat, are already making plans to renew their vows.
In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Mariah said; "We're just going to have another (wedding) next year. His plan is to have one every year".
