Kate Hudson insists she doesn't regret forsaking her partying years in order to have children.

The beautiful actress, who has a four-year-old son Ryder with ex-husband rocker Chris Robinson, revealed she would rather look after her child then spend her time out drinking and dancing.

She said; "Am I going to look back and say, 'God, I wish I could have gone to that concert?' I'd rather be listening to my son sing songs. I'd rather be watching him sleep."

Kate, who recently split from boyfriend, cycling champion Lance Armstrong, also revealed she makes sure both she and Ryder stay in close contact with Chris.

She said; "Ryder and I iChat with Chris constantly. No matter what is going on in my life, relationship-wise, Chris takes absolute precedence. It's important for Ryder to hear me say how wonderful Chris is, and how much Chris misses him."

Meanwhile, Kate recently admitted she hates the outfits she has to wear for her movies.

The 29-year-old actress, who can be soon seen in the new film 'Bride Wars' alongside Anne Hathaway, admits she would like to have more freedom over the choice of clothes she wears on set.

She said; "For some reason, most of the movies I am in they put me in pencil skirts or tight jeans and it drives me crazy!

In real life, I love clothes. It's like an expression of who you are, but in movies you are wearing thing that aren't necessarily the things you would choose to put on."

Kate has also insisted that her on-screen chemistry with former co-star Matthew McConaughey has never extended into their real life.

She said; "To me, Matthew feels more like a brother, we are both very flirtatious people, but there is no romantic connection. I just have a total soft spot for him.

We can goof around and have a great time but we also know how to push each other's buttons perfectly. We both have a competitive nature and throw little jabs at each other."
